TABLE OF CONTENTS
1 Solar Attractiveness Model (Excel 2007)
1 User Guide (PDF)
The model is fully interactive and comes complete with a detailed user guide. Irrespective of users' experience with Excel, complex scenarios can be built and reviewed quickly and easily and customisation (either by advanced Excel users or on request from Energici Holdings Inc) is possible.
SOLAR ATTRACTIVENESS MODEL
The model consists of 4 main sections spread across 10 tabs in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet.
Raw Data
Over 19,000 datapoints assigned to 120 indicators distributed across 26 categories (see below) and 214 geographic entities. All data is fully sourced and referenced.
Controls
Every indicator can be weighted to increase its relative contribution to a scenario. Scoring parameters for indicators are also fully editable to reflect the requirements or sensitivities of any given scenario.
Calculations
Raw data is converted to weighted scores and ultimately to Investment and Solar Attractiveness indices based on the weights and scoring parameters set by the user.
Charts & Analysis
Visual and tabular outputs are built in to explore the scenario outputs from a global, regional, sub-regional and country level. Tables rank countries based on their solar attractiveness indices and XY scatter plot charts with editable axes map out relative positionings of countries at a global, regional and sub-regional level. Individual country reports provide comparative analysis of category scores against other regional and global markets and provide detailed extracts of all 120 Indicators for the country in question. Additional analysis and charting is possible using either the raw data, weighted scores or ultimate Investment and Solar Attractiveness indices – all data is fully accessible and detailed instructions on the location and makeup of the various data forms are provided in the enclosed user guide.
For ease of reference, the 120 indicators are bundled into discrete categories. All raw data, weights, scoring parameters, scores, weighted scores and indices for all 214 geographic entities are fully accessible in the model.
31 Security, Social, Technological, Economic and Political indicators are grouped to analyse the macro environment for all countries.
16 Trade, Tariff, Customs, Barrier to Entry and Environmental indicators examine access to market issues.
13 Protection and Policy indicators make up the legislative portion of the model.
25 Operations, Taxes, Financing, Incentives, Logistics and Support indicators review the business attractiveness for all countries.
10 Total Energy, Consumption and Value indicators identify total energy capacity trends, consumption developments and levels of private investment.
9 Renewables indicators review past trends and the future outlook for non-hydro renewables, including historic compound growth rates, market shares and future growth outlook.
12 Solar, Irradiation and Pricing indicators comprise the analysis of the solar market, covering installed and added capacity, historical short and long term trends, market shares, per capita and GDP ratios, 2020 growth outlook and annual accessible market forecasts.
4 Network indicators assess the distribution of power.
