Snyder, Dean of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, to Chair Huron Consulting Group's Academic Council

    CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 2005--Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ:HURN) today announced the formation of its Academic Council. Edward A. Snyder, Dean of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, will chair Huron's newly formed Council. The Academic Council is comprised of leading professors of economics, accounting, and finance from nationally acclaimed universities.

    The Council members will provide commentary on matters of importance in economic litigation and related academic research. They will also work with Huron to provide expert testimony in economic litigation in their areas of expertise.
    Huron's Economic Consulting group, directed by Michael J. Moore, currently provides economic analyses for corporate clients dealing with strategy, litigation, regulation, valuation, merger and acquisitions, and bankruptcy matters. Huron prepares and delivers testimony that spans the entire business litigation spectrum including: antitrust and anticompetitive practices, insurance disputes, intellectual property, securities fraud, toxic torts, and tax controversies.

    The Academic Council members include:

    Edward Snyder - Dean of the Graduate School of Business and the George Pratt Shultz Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago GSB. Professor Snyder is also an editor of the Journal of Law & Economics, and is considered a leading authority on private antitrust enforcement and litigation.
    Michael Bradley - F.M. Kirby Professor of Investment Banking at The Fuqua School of Business, and Professor of Law at Duke University. Professor Bradley has testified in some of the most important cases involving takeovers and corporate governance issues in state and federal courts and before the Senate Banking Committee, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Council of Economic Advisors, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the Council of Institutional Investors.
    Patricia Dechow - Carleton H. Griffin-Deloitte & Touche LLP Collegiate Professor of Accounting at the University of Michigan Business School. Professor Dechow's research focuses on evaluating the quality of earnings, detecting earnings management, and the role of accounting information in valuation. She has a monograph on Earnings Quality published by the CFA Institute. She is an Editor of The Accounting Review, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Accounting and Economics and Review of Accounting Studies, and is on the Editorial Board of Accounting and Finance.
    Paul Farris - Landmark Communications Professor of Business Administration and Co-Director of the E-Business Initiative at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. Professor Farris serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Retailing, and Journal of Marketing. He is also a member of the American Marketing Association, the Advertising Research Foundation and The Institute of Management Sciences.
    Jim Hughes - Thomas Sowell Professor and Chair of Economics at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. His teaching areas include microeconomic theory, labor economics, health economics, environmental economics and the economics of gender. Professor Hughes has published extensively on the effects of fee-shifting on litigation, and is considered a leading antitrust expert on matters relating to class certification in indirect-purchaser litigation, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry.
    Jim Levinsohn - J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Professor of Public Policy and Associate Dean of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, and a Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, at the University of Michigan. He is also the Associate Editor of the Journal of Economic Literature and the Review of Economics and Statistics, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
    Michael J. Moore - Managing Director in Huron's Economic Consulting group, Disputes & Investigations practice and the Bank of America Research Professor at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He is also a Research Associate in the Health Economics and Health Care sectors at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Dr. Moore's consulting work has included the formulation and estimation of economic and econometric models for large corporate clients, and the provision of expert testimony and litigation support in tort, antitrust, and commercial litigation.
    Tracy Lewis - Martin L. Black Professor of Economics at The Fuqua School of Business, the Director of the Innovation Center, and Professor of Law at Duke University. Prior to coming to Duke, Lewis served as Economic Advisor for the National Research Council-Academy of Sciences, and as a health care consultant to the Florida Attorney General's Office. Professor Lewis is also a former Brookings Fellow.
