Science Applications Profit Rises Despite Lower Revenue - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Science Applications International Corp (SAIC), a provider of technical, engineering and enterprise IT solutions, Tuesday reported second-quarter net earnings of $34 million or $0.70 per share compared with $25 million or $0.50 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were $952 million compared with $1.03 billion in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.68 per share on revenues of $950 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total cost of revenues for the quarter were $871 million compared with $960 million last year. The prior year also had restructuring and other charges of $18 million.
