Samsung Electronics Integrates and Ships Macromedia Flash Lite 1.1 Ena

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2005--Macromedia (Nasdaq:MACR) today announced a licensing agreement with Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. that will bring the power of Macromedia(R) Flash Lite(TM) 1.1 to a world leading handset manufacturer.
Samsung is using Flash Lite to deliver graphical user interfaces and rich interactive experiences on new mobile handsets around the world. The first Samsung handset enhanced with Flash Lite is available in Korea, other handsets will be available in other regions soon. Flash Lite is a version of Macromedia Flash(R) Player specifically developed for mobile phones so consumers can benefit from the power of rich interactive Flash experiences. Samsung will use Flash MX Professional 2004 to rapidly generate intuitive user interfaces and applications that can be easily deployed with Flash Lite 1.1 across handsets with differing operating systems, processors, browsers, and screen sizes.
Samsung Electronics produces over 100 handset models each year, and has shipped 86 million handsets in 2004 in 45 countries.
