Ryder Named a 2011 Great Supply Chain Partner By SupplyChainBrain
SupplyChainBrain, a comprehensive supply chain management information resource for supply chain intelligence, strategy and innovation, has named Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R) one of the 100 Great Supply Chain Partners for 2011, based on an extensive survey of industry professionals. The ninth annual 100 Great Supply Chain Partners feature is the result of a six-month online poll in which supply chain professionals were asked to nominate service providers whose solutions have made a significant impact on their companies’ efficiency, customer service, and overall supply chain performance.
"The 2011 July/August issue of SupplyChainBrain magazine includes the select list of companies who have so impressed our readers that they deserve to be singled out and held up as examples for others in the industry,” said Brad Berger, Publisher of SupplyChainBrain. "Our compliments to Ryder on making the final cut of those 100 companies who received the most qualified nominations!”
In 2011, SupplyChainBrain received more than 2,500 nominations from small and large companies covering scores of different industries. Vendors of every conceivable type of supply chain activity were nominated – from the broadest range of third-party logistics, transportation and consulting services, to the most highly specialized technologies.
"Customers recognize Ryder as a great supply chain partner because they can count on us to consistently execute their logistics projects with precision and reliability, even in the most challenging situations,” said John Williford, President of Global Supply Chain Solutions for Ryder. "We apply our deep expertise, breadth of resources, and lean methodology to help our customers operate leaner, more efficiently, and with better predictability in order to achieve peak supply chain performance.”
