Roger Ogden to head the Gannett Center for Design and Innovation

Roger Ogden has been named Senior Vice President ofDesign, Innovation and Strategy for Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE:GCI), thecompany said today. Ogden will continue as president and chiefexecutive officer of Gannett Broadcast.

In this additional role, Ogden will head the Gannett's Center forDesign and Innovation, a new entity within the company that willencourage development of new business ideas and improved processes forGannett. The Center will assign ideas submitted by employees to teamsfor study and implementation. Employees from around the company willbe invited to work on the teams.

Gannett's division leaders will have significant roles in theprocess, ensuring the long-term focus of the company on innovation. Inaddition to Ogden, division heads are Sue Clark-Johnson, president ofthe Newspaper Division; Craig Moon, president and publisher of USATODAY; Paul Davidson, chairman and chief executive officer ofNewsquest; and Jack Williams, president of Gannett Digital.

Ogden became president and CEO of Gannett Broadcast in July, 2005.Prior to that appointment, he was a senior vice president of GannettBroadcast and president and general manager of K*USA-TV, the GannettNBC affiliate in Denver. As a member of the Gannett BroadcastOperating Committee, Ogden had responsibility for Gannett's Phoenix,Cleveland, Sacramento and Atlanta stations in addition to Denver.

Ogden previously was president and managing director of NBCEurope. He began his broadcast career at age 13 in Denver at radiostation KPOF and has worked at TV stations in Denver and Louisville,KY.

He has served on the Associated Press Board of Directors aschairman of the Broadcast Committee. He also served as the NBCAffiliate Board as chairman and president in 2003 and 2004, andcurrently is past chair.

Gannett named Ogden Manager of the Year in 2005.
