Rockstar Tease Die-Hard Fans With Ideas On GTA 6
(RTTNews) - Rockstar Games, the video game developer owned by Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (TTWO), has confirmed that it has "ideas" for the next version of its popular crime game franchisee Grand Theft Auto.
Although, Rockstar has not released the latest GTA 5 for the PC that has been delayed to March from January, it is a tease for die-hard fans of GTA franchisee with the developer indicating it has "ideas" as to what GTA 6 will be like.
According to gaming website Develop, Rockstar Games' President Leslie Benzies said, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas".
Benzies added, "It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in."
Take-Two yesterday reported a third-quarter profit and revenue that easily trounced Wall Street estimates, reflecting solid holiday sales of "Grand Theft Auto V." Take-Two released "Grand Theft Auto V" for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 last November and sold nearly 10 million units. The company had initially released the blockbuster game for older gaming consoles in September 2013 and has sold-in more than 45 million units. The title is planned for a PC launch on March 24.
TTWO is currently trading at $29.72, down $0.12 or 0.40%, on the NYSE.
