Regal Entertainment Group Offers Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D at 212 Locations

Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE: RGC), a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, announced today that tickets are on sale for Monsters vs. Aliens: An IMAX 3D Experience® and Monsters vs. Aliens in DIGITAL 3D. The film will be released in traditional 35mm format, digital projection, DIGITAL 3D and IMAX® 3D beginning Friday, March 27. This new DreamWorks picture will be playing in IMAX 3D or DIGITAL 3D at a total of 212 Regal Entertainment Group theatres across the country.

Regal Entertainment Group will present Monsters vs. Aliens in DIGITAL 3D at 210 theatres utilizing RealD® cinema systems. RealD cinema systems are comprised of several components, including a specially-treated movie screen; polarized 3D glasses; and the RealD Cinema Z-Screen lens that mounts in front of the digital projector, enabling the projector to show three-dimensional images. Customized software by RealD integrates the components to deliver a flawless 3D movie experience. RealD cinema systems provide remarkable depth and clarity where 3D images pull you into the movie.

Monsters vs. Aliens: An IMAX 3D Experience will be available at 36 Regal Entertainment Group IMAX® Theatres across the country. In IMAX 3D, images leap off of the screen and into the laps of the audience, further enhancing the feeling of being IN the movie. This is made possible by a combination of IMAX’s powerful 3D projection system – which simultaneously projects two separate images onto the IMAX screen – and polarized IMAX 3D glasses that audience members wear to fuse the two images into a single 3D motion picture. The IMAX Experience is powered by a combination of sharp, bright images, crystal clear digital surround sound and custom-designed theatres.

In Monsters vs. Aliens, California girl Susan Murphy is unexpectedly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk, and she mysteriously grows to 49-feet-11-inches tall and is instantly labeled a "monster” named Ginormica. The military jumps into action, and she is captured and held in a secret government compound. The world learns that the military has been quietly rounding up other monsters over the years. This ragtag group consists of the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their confinement time is cut short however, when a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and begins storming the country. As a last resort, under the guidance of General W.R. Monger (on a desperate order from The President), the motley crew of Monsters is called into action to combat the aliens and save the world from imminent destruction.
