Regal Beloit Posts Loss In Q4; Provides Q1 EPS Outlook - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Power generation products manufacturer Regal Beloit Corp. (RBC) reported fourth-quarter net loss attributable to Regal Beloit of $33.2 million or $0.74 per share, compared to a profit of $29.9 million or $0.70 per share last year.

The company stated that the recent quarter results included goodwill and intangible asset impairments and other related items of $81.0 million, or $74.7 million after tax.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter rose to $0.97 per share from $0.76 per share last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.84 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the quarter were $727.3 million compared to $715.6 million a year ago. Analysts estimated revenues of $715.69 million for the quarter.

Looking ahead to first quarter, the company expects earnings per share to be $0.90 to $0.98. Adding back $0.09 of restructuring charges and purchase accounting, adjusted earnings per share is expected to be $0.99 to $1.07. Analysts predict the company to report earnings of $1.15 per share for the first quarter.
