RBC Dain Rauscher Names Private Client Group Presidents

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- RBC Dain Rauscher president and CEO John Taft today announced that Jim Chapman, 49, and Karl Leaverton, 49, have been named to new positions as the firm's Private Client Group division presidents, effective immediately.

Under RBC Dain Rauscher's new management structure, Chapman is president of the East division, which includes 88 branch offices in 27 states in the East, Southeast and Midwest regions. Leaverton is president of the West division, which includes 63 branch offices in 14 states in the Northwest, Southwest and South regions. Chapman and Leaverton were also named to the RBC Dain Rauscher Operating Committee.

"Both of these executives have exceptional leadership skills and tremendous depth of experience in the Private Client Group business," said Taft. "Their roles will be focused on driving our strategy and accelerating our recruiting and revenue growth initiatives."

Chapman, a 26-year industry veteran, joined RBC Dain Rauscher in 1996 as branch manager of the firm's Chicago office. He was promoted to senior vice president and regional director at RBC Dain Rauscher in 2001. Chapman resides in Chicago and has a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University.

Leaverton joined RBC Dain Rauscher in 1993 as regional director of the firm's private client offices in Oregon, Nevada and Utah. He was named head of RBC Dain's Midwest region in 1996 and promoted to senior vice president and regional director of the Western region in 1999. Leaverton resides in Seattle and has 24 years of industry experience. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., and a master's degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
