PriceSmart August Comp Sales Up 3.0% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Discount warehouse clubs operator PriceSmart Inc. (PSMT) reported that comparable warehouse sales, for the 33 warehouse clubs open for at least 13 1/2 full months, for the five-week period ended August 30, 2015 increased 3.0 percent.

Net sales for the month of August grew 12.6 percent to $232.7 million from $206.3 million in the same five-week period last year.

For the fifty-two week period ended August 30, 2015, comparable warehouse sales increased 2.7 percent. Net sales for the twelve-month period also grew 11.3 percent to $2.72 billion from $2.44 billion in the same period last year.

The company operated 37 warehouse clubs as at the end of August 2015, compared to 33 warehouse clubs at the end of August 2014.

PriceSmart also said it plans to release financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2015 on October 29, 2015, after the market closes.
