Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) is gaining 1 percent to $91.00. The company's third quarter profit edged up from the year-ago quarter and its adjusted earnings per share topped Wall Street view. Sales for the rose and also topped the consensus estimate.
Coca-Cola Company (KO) is rising 1 percent to $38.39. The company's third quarter profit improved from the prior year period, while net operating revenues declined from the last year quarter. Reported net revenues declined 3 percent, with comparable net revenues down 2 percent. At the same time, the company increased its full-year 2013 adjusted earnings guidance.
Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) is up 0.40 percent to $325.67, after gaining 8 percent on Monday. The company has struck a deal with Sony Corp.'s (SNE) TV Studio to produce a new 13-episode original TV series for the exclusive viewing of its Internet subscribers. This is Netflix's first series production deal with a major Hollywood studio.
Decliners:
Citigroup, Inc. (C) is down 1 percent to $49.00. The company's third quarter profit surged from the prior year period, but was below Street view. Total revenues improved from the year-ago quarter, while excluding CVA/DVA and the third quarter 2012 MSSB loss, revenues were down by 5 percent year-over-year.
Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (SVNT) is plunging 86 percent $0.076. The company announced that it has elected to file voluntary petitions under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
FLIR Systems, Inc. (FLIR) is down 9 percent to $30.10. The company said its third quarter preliminary results were negatively impacted by weakness in markets that have exposure to the U.S. federal government. The company lowered its full-year outlook, citing the weakness in the third quarter and anticipated impact in the fourth quarter.
Domino's Pizza, Inc. (DPZ) is down 2 percent to $67.37. The company's third quarter profit increased from year-ago quarter, while its adjusted earnings per share missed Street view. Revenues rose 6.9 percent and came above the consensus estimate.
