(RTTNews) - Panera Bread Co. (PNRA) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $54.2 million or $1.96 per share, compared to $51.6 million or $1.75 per share in the same period last year.

On average, 25 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.94 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues rose 16% to $661.73 million from $571.55 million last year, while 22 analysts expected revenues of $662.07 million.
