OmniVision Appoints Former TSMC Executive as Vice President, Quality and Reliability

    SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 2005--OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:OVTI), one of the world's leading suppliers of CMOS image sensors, today announced the appointment of John T. Yue, Ph.D., MBA, as Vice President, Quality and Reliability.
    Dr. Yue joins OmniVision from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), where he spent three years as Vice President of Quality and Reliability and two years as Vice President of Technology with the company's North America operations. In his new position at OmniVision, Dr. Yue is responsible for overseeing global product quality and reliability and manages a team of three regional Quality and Reliability Managers. He reports directly to OmniVision President and CEO, Shaw Hong.
    Prior to joining TSMC, Dr. Yue spent 17 years with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in Sunnyvale, California, where he held various positions, including Director of Reliability and Quality in the Corporate Quality Division and was an AMD fellow. Prior to AMD, Dr. Yue held management positions at National Semiconductor and Texas Instruments.
    During his 32 years in the semiconductor industry, Dr. Yue has held management positions in silicon materials research, production and process engineering, process integration, technology reliability and quality engineering. He has a Ph.D. and Masters degree in Physics from Stanford University, a B.S. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He holds eight U.S. patents and has published over 40 technical papers. He serves on the MIT Semiconductor Entrepreneurship Board and is a senior member of IEEE, IRPS and the American Physical Society.
