Office Depot Names Teddy Chung Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Asia

Chung joins Office Depot from Avery Dennison, a globalmanufacturer of office products, printing and packing materials,specialty films and adhesives, where he spent more than 20 years, mostrecently as Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong.

In his new role, Chung will be responsible for leading OfficeDepot's business in Asia, including managing the Company's retail,delivery and e-commerce operations in Japan; overseeing the recentacquisition of Best Office Company in South Korea; and continuing togrow Office Depot's presence in this region from both an operating andproduct sourcing perspective.

During his two decades at Avery Dennison (1985-2005), Chung servedin a variety of senior management positions both in the U.S. andoverseas. His experience included growing sales through theintroduction of new products and services; expanding distribution andgeographic coverage; building a global sales and marketingorganization; integrating acquired companies; and implementingprocurement initiatives that resulted in significantly lowered costmaterials for both regional and worldwide business units.

Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Chung worked at Booz-Allen andHamilton, a leading global consulting firm.

He was born in Shanghai, and holds a BS degree in ChemicalEngineering from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard BusinessSchool.
