The TeleFutura Network announced today the 20 contestants who will compete in the 4th season of "Objetivo Fama” (Objective Fame), the extraordinary singing competition that has been a runaway success in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. "Objetivo Fama” will be broadcast on Mondays in primetime from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on TeleFutura. Competing from the Centro de Bellas Artes in Puerto Rico, this year’s contestants are: from New York - José Vargas, Frances Marrero, Julissa Morel, Nat Vázquez; from Los Angeles – Iván López, Ramón García, Marleen Salinas, Natalia Herrera; from Puerto Rico – Juan Vélez, Víctor Santiago and Lizmarie Goldilla; from Chicago - Héctor Arreguin; from San Antonio - Erica Gonzaba, Edgar Pérez; from El Paso - Arturo Guerrero; from Miami – Natalie Rodríguez; from Orlando – Aidsa Rodríguez; from Fresno – Marissa Meza; from San Francisco – Jorge Ochoa, Luz María Aguilar. "Objetivo Fama’s” formula for success is repeated this year with the return of Yuri as host, the popular Mexican singer, actress and presenter, whose energy and unique style adds a special touch to the show. "Hosting ‘Objetivo Fama’ has been extremely rewarding for me, as I know that I can make a positive contribution to the growth of young people,” said Yuri. "I feel the responsibility to create awareness and instill a desire for improvement in every human being that watches us. I love being part of this special program.” A world-class panel of judges – including internationally renowned Puerto Rican soprano Hilda Ramos, distinguished entertainment attorney Roberto Sueiro and Mexican actor/singer Fernando Allende – is a key element of this outstanding production. These experts will be on hand for the duration of the competition to evaluate and critique the performances of the contestants. Pre-production of "Objetivo Fama” has already begun, and its key figures are back in their regular places. For the fourth time, singer Lunna will be the director of the "Casa Estudio” (Study House), a position she has occupied magnificently for the past three years, becoming that "special mother” in charge of guiding and directing the needs of the young contestants. Also returning this season is the "Objetivo Fama” team of coaches and collaborators, made up of seasoned professionals in the fields of music, academics, choreography, image consulting and styling, medicine and psychology. "Objetivo Fama” relies on the solid support of four great sponsors – McDonald’s, Pontiac, Sears and Verizon Wireless. This season’s winner will receive a series of valuable prizes, including a recording contract with Univision Music Group; a 2007 Pontiac G6 convertible; $25,000 cash from Verizon Wireless; and $10,000 in merchandise from Sears. "Pontiac has a long history of supporting emerging artists and we are thrilled to be partnering with ‘Objetivo Fama’ for the third year in a row,” said Mark-Hans Richer, Marketing Director, Pontiac. "This year’s winner will receive a 2007 Pontiac G6 hard top convertible -- the perfect vehicle for an artist with new found fame.” Dexter Cosmo, Sears Director Business Services and Media Relations (Caribbean Region) said: "We are delighted to join in the effort to provide a platform for Hispanic talent. Sears is excited to provide an opportunity, through ‘Objetivo Fama,’ for young men and women to realize their potential.” "Verizon Wireless’s involvement in ‘Objetivo Fama’ underscores our company’s commitment to provide dynamic Spanish-language content on VCast to all of our Spanish speaking customers,” said John Harrobin, Verizon Wireless Vice President Digital Media & Marketing. "Verizon Wireless is also excited to enhance the overall experience of ‘Objetivo Fama’ by allowing viewers to vote for their favorite singers weekly through text messages and by enabling them to download personalized wallpaper and ringtones of the shows contestants.” "Objetivo Fama” has truly brought fame to its participants, starting with Janina, the winner from the first season, whose debut CD "Todo de Mí” featured two singles that climbed to the Top 20 in Puerto Rico and throughout Latin America. Janina is currently promoting her second musical production, "Contra la Corriente.” Second season winner, Anaís, who is Dominican by birth and a New Yorker at heart, made her professional debut with the album titled "Así Soy Yo,” taking her song "Lo que son las Cosas” to the #1 spot in the Top 20 for seven consecutive weeks. She has received prestigious nominations for major music awards such as Premio Lo Nuestro and the Latin GRAMMYs. Production of her second album is currently under way. Marlon, the winner from the show’s third season and a Cuban artist who carries tropical music in his soul and his country’s liveliness in his heart, recently launched his first CD, "Mi Sueño” and earned a Premio Lo Nuestro nomination.
