Nordea and The Bank of New York Appointed by Swedish AP7 Pension Fund as Global Custodian; First Win Following Announcement of Strategic Agreement to Provide Global Custody in Nordic Region

Nordea, the leading financial services provider in theNordic region, and The Bank of New York, a global leader in securitiesservicing, have been appointed global custodian for the $7 billionSwedish AP7 Pension Fund after a competitive tender.

Nordea and The Bank of New York were joint bidders for themandate, which represents the first win following their strategicagreement announced in August 2005. The two companies are now workingtogether to provide global custody services to Nordea's institutionalclients in the Nordic and Baltic Sea regions.
