NextEra Energy Q1 Profit Rises; Backs 2015 Adj. EPS View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - NextEra Energy, Inc. (NEE) reported 2015 first-quarter net income attributable to the company of $650 million or $1.45 per share, up from $430 million, or $0.98 per share, in the first quarter of 2014.

On an adjusted basis, NextEra Energy's earnings were $631 million, or $1.41 per share, compared to $557 million, or $1.26 per share, in the first quarter of 2014.

Operating revenues for the quarter grew to $4.104 billion from $3.674 billion in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.27 per share and revenues of $3.89 billion. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

NextEra Energy continues to expect full-year 2015 adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of $5.40 to $5.70 and 2016 full-year adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of $5.75 to $6.25. Analysts expect earnings of $5.64 per share for fiscal 2015, and $6.07 per share for fiscal 2016.
