New Generation of 1200V Field Stop Trench Gate IGBTs Offer Dramatically Lower Saturation Voltage

    BEND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 2005--Advanced Power Technology (Nasdaq:APTI) is pleased to announce its new family of 1200V Field Stop, Trench Gate IGBTs. These devices feature significantly lower V(CEON) compared to previous generations of NPT IGBTs. They are designed for use in applications requiring up to 20 kHz hard switching and up to 30 kHz soft switching capabilities. In addition to low V(CEON), these IGBTs are short circuit rated and easy to parallel due to a narrow V(CEON) distribution and a positive V(CEON) temperature coefficient. The tail current is practically eliminated due to the Field Stop technology, making these IGBTs an excellent choice for resonant topologies.
