Meredith Corp. Announces 172% Gain In Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - Meredith Corp. (MDP) reported a profit for its third quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $128.04 million, or $0.92 per share. This was higher than $47.10 million, or $0.71 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.80 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.2% to $422.77 million. This was up from $398.18 million last year.
