MeadWestvaco Names Mark V. Gulling President, Global Business Services

MeadWestvaco Corporation (NYSE: MWV) today announcedthat Mark Gulling, the company's new president, Global BusinessServices, assumed his position on February 27, 2006. Hisresponsibilities include leading the company's global internalservices operations, including shared services for human resources,finance, logistics and information technology.

The implementation of the new business services model supportsMeadWestvaco's recently announced new organizational structure aimedat capturing market growth opportunities, enhancing customer focus andincreasing efficiency. In his new role, Mr. Gulling will further thecompany's objectives by driving strategies focused on generatingenterprise-wide cost savings through streamlined shared services andelevating the effectiveness of the company's business services inorder to improve customer and market responsiveness.

Mr. Gulling brings extensive expertise to the position, havingrecently served as director, Global Shared Services and vice presidentof Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK), where he led the implementationof a global shared services model. Among his key responsibilities inthis role, Mr. Gulling established standard business processes,reduced operational costs, implemented and oversaw internationalshared service centers, and reduced redundant administrativefunctions, resulting in significant cost savings. Prior to thisposition, he served as Eastman Kodak's chief information officer andvice president, and established a global information technologyorganization and managed the worldwide implementation of SAP.

Mr. Gulling joined Kodak in 1974 as a systems analyst andsubsequently held senior positions in Information Technology (IT) andEnterprise Resource Planning. In 2001, he was named chief informationofficer and vice president where he established a global ITorganization and managed the worldwide implementation of SAP.

Mr. Gulling graduated from Ashland University where he receivedhis BS in Mathematics and Economics.
