Matthews Int'l Q3 Adj. Profit Tops View

(RTTNews) - Matthews International Corp. (MATW) reported net income attributable to the company for the third quarter of $19.3 million or $0.70 per share, compared to $18.0 million or $0.65 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the latest third quarter were $0.86 per share, compared to $0.72 per share in the prior year quarter. On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.81 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales for the third quarter rose 11.7% to $279.98 million from $250.65 million a year ago, while three analysts expected revenue of $260.63 million for the third quarter.

Further, Matthews International also declared a dividend of $0.11 per share for the quarter ended June 30, 2014. The dividend is payable August 12, 2014 to stockholders of record July 28, 2014.
