Bangaru has been named vice president of product management, the third executive hire at the online mapping company in as many months. Bangaru will be located at MapQuest’s Denver headquarters and will drive innovation around mapping and location-based services, an area of large growth for MapQuest. Bangaru joins MapQuest following his tenure with Google Docs and Google Apps, where he was most recently responsible for all aspects of product development from vision, feature specification, user interface design, technical design to partner relations and acquisitions. Prior positions include program manager at Microsoft, where he worked on the WinFS project and strategy for the SQL Server, and software development engineer at Xilinx.
