Lowe New York's Mark Wnek Announces New Creative Leadership Team

Mark Wnek, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of LoweNew York, announced today his radical new creative leadership team.Fernanda Romano, 30, winner of the 2005 Cyber Lion Grand Prix will bejoining Lowe from DM9DDB Advertising, Sao Paulo Brasil. Star BartleBogle Hegarty (BBH) New York creative directors, John Hobbs, 38, andPeter Rosch, 32, complete the line-up.

Romano, Hobbs and Rosch will each hold the title of executivecreative director. They will report directly to Mark Wnek and willoversee the creative output across the agency.

Fernanda Romano is THE global darling of the interactive world,having won a total of 7 Cyber Lions at the Cannes Festival this pastyear, catapulting her agency to the top spot at thecompetition--Cannes' Interactive Agency of the Year--a remarkableaccomplishment for a general agency. She has also served as a jurymember for The One Show Interactive Awards and the LIA Awards, and hastaught at the Interactive Communications and Design Miami AdSchool/ESPM Sao Paulo. When she's not building brands with awardwinning work, Fernanda writes guest columns for technologypublications and appears on Brasil television as an expert on allthings interactive.

"It's simply and radically, there are no silos in the new Lowe--nobarriers between interactive, direct, wireless or so-calledtraditional advertising" said Mark Wnek, "a great idea doesn't carewho has it."

John Hobbs and Peter Rosch have won multiple Cannes Lions andClio's for their work for Levi's, Rolling Stone and Axe. In 2003 theywere recognized by Adweek in their annual "The Best Creatives YouDon't Know." This past year, the dynamic team tackled one of the mostchallenging projects in their career--targeting young men with asafety campaign for SUV's without actually showing an SUV. The nowfamous campaign, depicting a fictional hairy monster called the"Esuvee" garnered massive press coverage across the country.

"John & Peter are far and away the best creative team I've seen inthe U.S.," said Wnek.

Previously, John Hobbs held the title of creative director at BBH,and began his career as an art director. Peter Rosh, held the title ofcreative director at BBH and started out as a copywriter. FernandaRomano was the New Media and Special Projects Director at DM9DDB. DeanHacohen, formerly executive creative director at Lowe, left the agencyin July.
