Keynote Systems Appoints Curtis Smith as Chief Financial Officer

Keynote Systems (Nasdaq:KEYN), the global leader in on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the online experience, named Curtis Smith, 45, Chief Financial Officer, reporting to Umang Gupta, Chairman and CEO, effective July 1st, 2010. Smith is replacing Andrew Hamer, who resigned effective as of June 1st, 2010. Also, the company promoted David Peterson, 49, to Chief Accounting Officer, effective June 1st, 2010.

Gupta said: "Working with a broad, international spectrum of software and technology companies for over 15 years, Curtis brings extensive finance and industry experience to Keynote. Specifically, for the past three years while with GCA Savvian Advisors, Curtis has served as an advisor to Keynote and he and I have had a chance to work very closely. As such, he is intimately familiar with our company’s operations, market and organization. Curtis will be a great asset to our company as we drive organic revenue growth from our Mobile and Internet business and also evaluate any potential acquisition opportunities. I would also like to thank Drew Hamer for his five years of service to Keynote and wish him the very best as he returns to private company endeavors.”

Peterson served as Corporate Controller since 2009 and has responsibility for worldwide accounting and financial reporting, including Securities & Exchange Commission filings, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and internal management accounting.

During his tenure at Keynote, he has proven his command of our international financial reporting and accounting system, as well as his knowledge of SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Curtis H. Smith

From 2006 until joining Keynote, Smith was at GCA Savvian Advisors, where he served most recently as Managing Director and head of its global software and software-enabled services banking practice, managing mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions for clients on three continents. Prior to that, Smith had an additional nine years of investment banking experience supporting software and technology companies, including as Vice President in Credit Suisse First Boston’s technology group. Smith received an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University.

David F. Peterson

From 1995 until joining Keynote, Peterson was Corporate Controller for several technology and financial services companies including, BenefitStreet Inc., QuickLogic Corporation, Spectrian Corporation and Phillips Semiconductor. Prior to that, Peterson was Director of Accounting at Fujitsu Microelectronics, Audit Senior Manager at Price Waterhouse; and Senior Auditor at Ernst & Whinney. Peterson received a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University and was a Certified Public Accountant in Oklahoma.
