Kemper To Acquire Alliance United Group In 70 Mln Cash Deal - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Kemper Corp. (KMPR) agreed to acquire Alliance United Group and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, in an all-cash deal valued at about $70 million. The deal, primarily subject to approvals by insurance regulators, is expected to close in the first half of 2015.
The acquisition will see Kemper expand its presence in the state of California. Alliance United expects its 2014 direct written premiums to total more than $300 million. After completion of the deal, Kemper plans to contribute up to $75 million of capital to support this book of business.
