J & J Snack Foods Q2 Profit Climbs 3%

(RTTNews) - J & J Snack Foods (JJSF) announced earnings for its second quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $15.99 million, or $0.85 per share. This was up from $15.59 million, or $0.84 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.88 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 7.3% to $246.51 million. This was up from $229.71 million last year.
