Isonics CEO James E. Alexander to Provide Corporate Business Overview at Annual Shareholders Meeting April 19; CEO to Discuss Past Year's Performance in Life Science, Semiconductor and Homeland Security Divisions and Outlook for Future

    Business Editors

GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2005--Isonics Corporation (NASDAQ:ISON), committed to the development of next-generation technology for the homeland security market, has announced that CEO James E. Alexander will open the Company's annual shareholders meeting with an address that outlines achievements and activities during the past year, and offers projections for progress in the coming year.
In his address to shareholders, Mr. Alexander will discuss activities in the Company's Life Sciences, Semiconductors, and Homeland Security divisions. He will discuss past performance of the Company's three operational segments, as well as Management's strategies and initiatives for future business development and opportunities within each division.
"I am looking forward to meeting with shareholders tomorrow at our annual meeting," said Mr. Alexander. "Isonics commenced a particularly bold course of action in the last year that has successfully enabled us to redefine and significantly enlarge the scope of our Company. In addition to continued activities within our Life Sciences and Semiconductor operations (both of which continue to face operating challenges), during the past year we established the new Isonics Homeland Security and Defense Corporation. Creating this new division has helped us focus our resources in the development of technologies and products in the fast-growing, multi-billion-dollar worldwide security marketplace, opening up many new possibilities for Isonics."
Mr. Alexander will elaborate on significant technologies, products and initiatives and past performance in the Company's three segments. He'll also provide an update for shareholders on the status of previously announced company acquisitions within the Homeland Security and Defense division, and will detail some of the new technologies and products these acquisitions will bring Isonics.
"While we still continue to face operating challenges in a couple of our divisions, we have successfully moved the Company into position to build a multi-dimensional, innovative technology organization in the homeland security space, as well as our other technology sectors," said Mr. Alexander. "These measures were taken to increase revenue growth and shareholder value. We feel this is an extremely exciting time in the history of Isonics."

    About Isonics Corporation

Isonics Corporation has three business divisions: (1) Isonics Semiconductor, (2) Isonics Life Sciences, and (3) Isonics Homeland Security and Defense. Isonics is a world leader in isotopically engineered materials and through its semiconductor division produces isotopically pure silicon-28 chemicals and wafers for the semiconductor industry. Isonics' Life Sciences division markets and sells isotopes to the health care industry for the imaging and treatment of cancer. Stable isotopes can be thought of as ultra pure materials. This high degree of purification provides enhanced properties as compared to natural materials. Our efforts in the Homeland Security segment are nascent at the present time as we proceed to develop further our neutron-based detection technologies.
