IDEX Q2 Profit Rises; Lifts FY13 EPS Outlook - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - IDEX Corp. (IEX) Monday posted second-quarter net income of $62.6 million or $0.76 per share, compared to $54.4 million or $0.65 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.74 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the quarter rose to $518.45 million from $494.14 million in the prior year quarter, while ten analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $516.24 million for the quarter.

Looking ahead, to the third quarter, the company projects earnings in the range of $0.72 to $0.74 per share. Analysts currently expect earnings of $0.73 per share in the third quarter.

For 2013, the company is increasing its earnings to $2.93 per share to $2.98 per share from its previous range of $2.85 to $2.95 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to report earnings of $2.95 per share for fiscal 2013.
