Huron Consulting Group Strengthens Health and Education Consulting Segment
Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that William D. Frank, Judith D. Mitchell and Randolf F. Notes have joined the Company as managing directors in the Health and Education Consulting segment. Frank and Notes will be focused on hospitals and healthcare systems, and Mitchell will be working with the Company’s health and education clients in the Middle East.

Frank has more than 30 years of experience in management consulting with a focus on academic institutions and national healthcare providers. Previously, Frank served as vice president of Allegiance Healthcare. Prior to that, he was the president and co-founder of West Hudson and Co., and he spent several years operating businesses in a variety of industries including professional sports and agriculture. At Huron, Frank will be involved with developing and managing the business operations of hospitals and healthcare organizations to improve the connectivity between the teaching and operational capacities of academic healthcare institutions. He will work with Huron’s Wellspring Partners practice to enhance performance at hospital and healthcare clients through operational improvements, cost management, and reimbursements.
Mitchell has more than 25 years of experience working with international academic medical centers. Her background includes extensive involvement in all phases of academic medical center development from conceptualization and program planning through construction, licensure and accreditation. Prior to joining Huron, Mitchell founded the planning practice at Harvard Medical International, the international arm of Harvard Medical School. There she advised partner organizations in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe on the development of hospital and educational and research facilities uniquely tailored to the populations they served. At Huron, Mitchell will assist international health and education clients, particularly in the Middle East, with strategic insight, analyses, and recommendations surrounding the global expansion and management of their health, education, and research programs.
Notes has more than 15 years of experience helping hospitals and healthcare organizations streamline their revenue cycle through process and technology improvements. Prior to joining Huron, Notes was the managing partner with Square 1 Health Group working with hospital clients primarily in the Northeast to help them improve revenue cycle operations. Previously he served as the corporate vice president of revenue operations for Hospital Partners of America. At Huron, Notes will be working in the Company’s Stockamp practice assisting hospital and health system clients with analyzing and implementing broad-based revenue cycle enhancements through managed care contract improvements, streamlined billing operations and collections, and organizational redesign.
Huron’s Health and Education Consulting segment represented more than 55% of the Company’s revenues in the third quarter of 2009. The Company helps healthcare institutions and universities respond to increasing funding constraints and regulatory challenges. Huron’s healthcare business includes the Wellspring Partners and Stockamp practices that address performance improvement needs at health systems, hospitals and academic medical systems across the country.
