Horace Mann Educators Reports 37% Fall In Q4 Earnings

(RTTNews) - Horace Mann Educators (HMN) revealed earnings for fourth quarter that declined from last year.

The company said its bottom line fell to $18.0 million, or $0.43 per share. This was lower than $28.7 million, or $0.68 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.52 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.6% to $276.1 million. This was up from $269.1 million last year.
