Hologic Inc Announces 21% Increase In Q1 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - Hologic Inc (HOLX) reported a profit for its first quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $135.1 million, or $0.46 per share. This was higher than $111.6 million, or $0.39 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.42 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.5% to $695.2 million. This was up from $652.8 million last year.
