Herbalife Nutrition Q2 Profit Misses Street

(RTTNews) - Herbalife Nutrition Ltd. (HLF) Thursday reported a second-quarter profit of $76.5 million or $0.54 per share, down from $94.4 million or $0.62 per share last year. Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $0.70 per share, down from $0.80 per share last year.

Sales for the quarter dropped 3.5% to $1.24 billion from $1.29 billion last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimate earnings of $0.77 per share and revenues of $1.29 billion for the quarter.

Excluding China, net sales increased 5.4% compared to the second quarter 2018 with growth in eight of our top ten countries.

Looking forward to the third quarter, Herbalife expects adjusted earnings of $0.56 to $0.76 per share. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $0.78 per share.

For the full year 2019, the company now expects adjusted earnings of $2.67 to $3.07 per share. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $2.98 per share.
