GM General Counsel Michael Millikin To Retire

(RTTNews) - General Motors Co. (GM) said Friday that General Counsel Michael Millikin has informed the company of his decision to retire in early 2015.

The company said it will immediately begin an external search for his replacement.

Millikin, 66, will remain in his position until the transition of the new General Counsel is complete.

Millikin, who joined GM in 1977, became the company's Associate General Counsel in 2005 and General Counsel in 2009.

Millikin's departure comes as state and federal prosecutors are investigating GM for issues related to the faulty ignition switch.
