ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- WAM! today announced that they have teamed with EF Educational Tours, the world's largest international educational tour company, to give teachers and their students a chance to "Get Outta Town!." You've watched the hosts of WAM!'s hit-show "Get Outta Town!" travel to the world's best cities, including Paris, London and Rome and now it's your turn with the WAM! / EF Educational Tours "Get Outta Town!" Contest.
One teacher will win a spectacular trip for one group leader and up to six students on an adventurous EF tour to Europe. The contest, open to full or part-time teachers, runs from February 1 through April 30, 2005. To enter, eligible contestants should visit http://www.eftours.com/getouttatown during the contest period and complete the required information.
"'Get Outta Town!' is an interactive series that takes our viewers around the world," said Midge Pierce, vice president WAM! programming. "This contest is a perfect complement to the program, as it gives the winner and six students a chance to experience firsthand the adventures they see on the show."
"Get Outta Town!" is a high energy adventure show that follows globetrotting hosts Barbara Mamabolo and Joseph Motiki in their travels from the ancient ruins in Rome to the rainforests of Costa Rica to the glamour and fashion of Paris. At each destination featured in "Get Outta Town!," Mamabolo and Motiki hook up with a local teen and spend a "day in the life" exploring the sites and learning the cultures of teens around the world. In each episode our host and friends crash the coolest places, hear the music, and try some of the local hot attractions like surfing in Sydney, T'ai Chi in Shanghai, and lavishing on churros dipped in chocolate in Spain -- just to name of few of the featured escapades!
The "Get Outta Town!" website (http://www.getouttatown.tv/) continues the adventure with the hosts online travel blog, an interactive map, photos from the series, behind the scenes exclusives, a virtual passport, and more.
The "Get Outta Town!" series was created and produced by the Nightingale Company and directed by Sebastian Cluer. The Nightingale Company is a Canadian film and television production company whose film and television projects include: "Mob Princess," "Dove Days," "Phunkee Zee," "Chicks with Sticks, Bailey," "The Inner Eye," and "My Dinner With Laurier." The "Get Outta Town!" website will be produced and maintained by Pangae NewMedia, an award winning interactive media production company based in Toronto.
