Genesco Inc. Earnings Retreat 21% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Genesco Inc. (GCO) announced a profit for third quarter that dropped compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line dropped to $25.55 million, or $1.28 per share. This was lower than $32.19 million, or $1.40 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.93 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 8.2% to $710.82 million. This was down from $773.90 million last year.
