Gannett Co. Profit Rises 142% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Gannett Co. (GCI) announced earnings for its third quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $18.39 million, or $0.16 per share. This was up from $7.60 million, or $0.06 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.08 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 3.6% to $744.27 million. This was down from $772.32 million last year.
