Facebook Q2 Net Income Decreases; Revenue Up 39% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Facebook, Inc. (FB) reported second quarter net income attributable to Class A and Class B common stockholders of $715 million compared to $788 million, a year ago. Earnings per share was $0.25 compared to $0.30. Non-GAAP net income was $1.44 billion or $0.50 per share, for the quarter.

On average, 42 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.47 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue was $4.04 billion compared to $2.91 billion, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $3.99 billion for the quarter. Excluding the impact of year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates, total revenue would have increased by 50%.

Advertising revenues were $3.83 billion; an increase of 43% over prior year. Excluding the impact of year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates, advertising revenue would have increased by 55%.

Daily active users were 968 million on average for June 2015, an increase of 17% year-over-year.
