Facebook, Inc Announces 94% Gain In Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - Facebook, Inc (FB) revealed a profit for its third quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $3.17 billion, or $1.09 per share. This was higher than $1.63 billion, or $0.57 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.97 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 55.8% to $7.01 billion. This was up from $4.50 billion last year.
