E*Trade Financial Corp. Announces 3% Fall In Q3 Earnings

(RTTNews) - E*Trade Financial Corp. (ETFC) reported a profit for third quarter that lost ground from last year.

The company said its earnings dropped to $135 million, or $0.49 per share. This was lower than $139 million, or $0.51 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.51 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 23.3% to $599 million. This was up from $486 million last year.
