EMC Corp Earnings Decline 3% In Q1

(RTTNews) - EMC Corp (EMC) announced a profit for first quarter that fell from last year.

The company said its profit came in at $603 million, or $0.307 per share. This was lower than $623 million, or $0.312 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.33 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 2.3% to $5.48 billion. This was down from $5.61 billion last year.
