Dish Rolls Out Sling TV Nationwide

(RTTNews) - Dish Network (DISH) on Monday rolled out its Internet video service Sling TV nationwide and will soon add AMC channel to the service that costs about $20 a month.

The $19.99 Sling TV package comes with a free 7-day trial, and Dish plans to add more punch by adding AMC, which is home to shows like "The Walking Dead," "Better Call Saul" and "Mad Men".

The Sling TV lineup currently includes ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, CNN, AMC, and Univision's El Rey Network and Galavision.

Sling TV will require no long-term commitment, annual contract, credit check, or hardware installation, and customers can cancel online anytime.

Apart from the base package, Sling TV is offering three other variations: "Sports Extra," "Kids Extra" and "News & Info Extra" add-on pack, each priced an additional $5 per month.

The Sports Extra package comes with the ESPN/SEC Network, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, Universal Sports, Univision Deportes, beIN Sports, and college sports live cut-in and highlights networks ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Bases Loaded, and ESPN Goal Line.

Kids Extra package includes Disney Junior, Disney XD, Boomerang, Baby TV, and Duck TV; and the News & Info Extra package comes with HLN, Cooking Channel, DIY and Bloomberg TV.

Sling TV will announce the launch date of AMC, as well as additional information regarding package availability of other AMC Networks channels. The service is also adding a number of AMC properties including BBC AMERICA, BBC World News, IFC, SundanceTV and WE tv.

Sling TV's launch comes at a time of increased live streaming preferences. CBS has a streaming service called All Access that went live in late 2014, and HBO is due to introduce its own cable-cutting streaming service in 2015. And not to speak of Netflix with its growing popularity.

To access Sling TV, users will need to use the Sling TV app on iOS, Android, Macs or Windows PCs. Also in a few months, Sling TV will launch on Google's Nexus Player, webOS Smart TVs from LG Electronics, select Samsung Smart TVs, and Xbox One.
