UNIWHEELS equips Mercedes-Maybach Pullman with forged wheels

Bad Dürkheim, 10th December 2015:

For decades, the Mercedes-Benz limousine with the name Pullman has been the ultimate luxury-class vehicle. The list of customers extends from various royal families to heads of state and corporation bosses to many celebrities from sport and entertainment. The Queen, John Lennon and even the Pope all enjoy using the Mercedes Pullman, which has already been setting standards among high-end luxury-class models for generations. This impressive success story is being continued with the new Mercedes-Maybach Pullman, which is produced for Mercedes by the renowned finisher and vehicle manufacturer Brabus. UNIWHEELS equips the Maybach Pullman with particularly high-strength forged wheels, which are used in the normal version as well as in the armoured and bullet-proof version GUARD. For this, apart from the very highest quality standards, the main focus in the development was upon the wheels' enormous load-bearing capacity, which is required for the armoured limousine, among other things.

"We are very happy to be supplier for this special vehicle in the absolute luxury class. The high load-bearing capacity required for the wheel - 1.5 tonnes - was a particular challenge here, which is why special forged wheels made of a high-strength aluminium alloy are now being used for the Pullman. These are manufactured in our special wheel production plant in the German factory at Fußgönheim", explains Ralf Schmid, CEO of UNIWHEELS AG.

At the motorsports and forged wheel production plant in Fußgönheim, the premium brand of the UNIWHEELS Group produces special forged and racing sport wheels with the highest standards of quality for automobile brands, sports cars and racing series. In addition to these, many prototype wheels for special series and test vehicles are produced there under the strictest secrecy, as commissioned work for numerous automobile manufacturers. The UNIWHEELS special wheel production plant is also the exclusive equipper of several international motorsports series.
