VOD platform PANTAFLIX and Disney announce comprehensive content agreement

Munich, 27 November 2017 - PANTAFLIX AG and Disney Germany are expanding the universe of digital entertainment: Under a content agreement, the two media companies are set to begin offering Disney's films via the VoD service pantaflix.com. Consequently, in addition to many other titles, the blockbuster "STAR WARS: The Last Jedi" which is about to celebrate its world premiere, will be available to fans on the video-on-demand platform in parallel with the DVD launch. The rights package includes all the corporation's new releases and hit franchises such as "STAR WARS" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" as well as an extensive library of films including Disney classics, numerous global blockbusters from the Marvel Universe such as "The First Avenger", hit animations from Disney·Pixar ("Finding Dory"), and family entertainment like "Frozen," all of which grossed more than USD 1 billion globally at the box office.

The agreement between PANTAFLIX AG and Disney as the first Major Studio represents the next stage in the evolution of rights exploitation for film and TV productions. The Disney content will be available on PANTAFLIX from the first quarter of 2018, first in Germany and Austria. Other territories and Major Studios will follow in the coming months.
