Destination Maternity Q3 Comps., Net Sales Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Destination Maternity Corp. (DEST), a maternity apparel retailer, said its third-quarter comparable sales slid by 5.3%, compared with a 4.9% increase in the prior-year quarter. Adjusted for calendar timing shift, quarterly comparable sales fell by 5.1%, versus an increase of 5.3% last year.

For the third quarter of fiscal 2014, net sales dropped by 5.5% to $134.0 million, from $141.9 million a year before. The decline in total reported sales resulted mainly from the decline in comparable sales and lower sales related to the firm's continued efforts to close underperforming stores, according to the company.
