Rodgers' Presentation to the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Alumni Association, an Educator of Many Cypress Employees in
India and Abroad, Will Address the Challenges of Global Expansion

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) announced today that its president and CEO, T.J. Rodgers, will address the BITS Alumni Association (BITSAA) Silicon Valley Chapter's (SVC) annual event, to be hosted at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Milpitas on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). Rodgers will touch upon Cypress's ties with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani and its strategy for India, vis-a-vis increased globalization of the semiconductor industry and the shortage of engineering talent.
"We are happy to have T.J. Rodgers participate in this annual event and to further strengthen our ties with one of the leading engineering colleges in India," said Ralph Schmitt, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Cypress. "Cypress employs several BITS Pilani alumni, and we see this as an important step in formalizing our relationship with the college and its global alumni as we look to expand our design centers in India and elsewhere."
"We are honored to have T.J. Rodgers as the keynote speaker this year," said Jayan Ramankutty, President BITSAA SVC. "Last year BITSAA and BITS Pilani launched OLAB -- The Oysters Lab at BITS -- a distributed VLSI center based in Bangalore, India, that would fuel the semiconductor research and chip development revolution in India through the participation and collaboration of semiconductor companies such as Cypress."
