CSK Auto Continues Growth in Key Western Markets

"We are opening stores in existing markets like Denver and SaltLake City that are experiencing very strong population growth and canquickly drive new store traffic and sales," said Martin Fraser,President of CSK Auto. CSK's recent acquisition of Murray's Discount Auto Stores in late2005 will also help drive new store growth in 2006. Murray's added 110existing stores in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana - states inwhich CSK had no real market presence - enabling CSK to gain apresence in new, contiguous markets or increase its presence inexisting markets, all the while keeping the Murray's brand name thatis well-known and trusted in the Midwest.

"Our acquisition of Murray's puts CSK into new markets and willallow us to fill-in with new stores from Chicago to Cleveland," saidMaynard Jenkins, Chairman and CEO of CSK Auto. "We believe these arecurrently under-served markets in the Do-It-For-Me (DIFM) category,and we plan to open CSK commercial centers, serving DIFM customerneeds, in approximately 50 Murray's stores by 2007."

Checker, Schuck's, and Kragen stores range in size from 6,000 to8,000 square feet. Murray's Discount Auto Stores average 10,500 squarefeet. All stores offer a broad selection of national brand name andgeneric automotive products for domestic and imported cars and lighttrucks, including new and remanufactured automotive replacement parts,maintenance items and accessories. The stores also sell a wide varietyof power and hand tools, as well as power equipment such as aircompressors, pressure washers, and electric generators.
