Costco Wholesale Corporation Q4 Income Climbs 2%

(RTTNews) - Costco Wholesale Corporation (COST) released a profit for its fourth quarter that advanced from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $779 million, or $1.77 per share. This was higher than $767 million, or $1.73 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.73 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.2% to $36.56 billion. This was up from $35.78 billion last year.
