Continental Resources Q3 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Continental Resources Inc. (CLR) announced that its net income for the third-quarter ended September 30, 2014 increased to $533.52 million, or $1.44 per share from $167.50 million or $0.45 per share in the prior year.

Excluding items typically excluded from published analyst estimates, adjusted net income for third quarter 2014 was $301 million, or $0.81 per share.

Crude oil and natural gas sales grew to $1.16 billion from $1.01 billion last year. Total revenues were $1.65 billion up from $814.89 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.81 per share and revenues of $1.17 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
