LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2005--
Caesars Palace in Las Vegas will host ESPN's debut Pay-Per-View boxing blockbuster. The fight card, promoted by Main Events, will feature two world championship fights on Saturday, April 23, in the Caesars Palace outdoor amphitheatre, an open-air venue prominently located at the center of Las Vegas Boulevard. This will mark the first of two events this year distributed by ESPN Pay-Per-View and promoted by Main Events.
With two strong 10-round preliminaries, and two scheduled 12-round title showdowns, the broadcast will offer up to 44 rounds of live boxing, available for just $29.99. Featured will be WBA lightweight champion Juan Diaz; WBO welterweight title holder Antonio Margarito (who will battle WBO-interim champion Kermit Cintron), as well as three-time world champion Shane Mosley; and a 10-round heavyweight bout. Tickets for the April 23 event at Caesars Palace are priced from $50 to $250 and are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com.
Hall-of-Famer Marvelous Marvin Hagler will be the evening's special analyst and join host Brian Kenny at a special set in Caesars Palace, a venue famous for its legendary boxing events featuring many of the greatest fighters in history, such as Muhammad Ali, Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Larry Holmes, and Thomas Hearns. Teddy Atlas and Joe Tessitore will describe all the action.
